My embroidery designs for Colcards

Six of my music designs are selling well for card company Colcards - taken from a range of original framed paper embroideries. The original embroideries have been best-sellers for over 10 years and have retailed to many independent retailers and galleries including Vienna Opera House & the Royal Shakespeare Company. It's nice to see them launched as a new range of cards - dare we say the word 'vintage'?! See more of my embroideries here

Steph Holmes - Brighton winner of Anna's award 2012

Stephanie Holmes' work is the worthy winner of the Brighton University Anna-Maria Desogus memorial award 2012. With a strong sense of narrative, her work won for it's combination of underlying personal meaning and important social issues of imprisonment and isolation. I look forward to seeing her work develop over the coming year. A new award is currently in discussions with Stourbridge College at National Diploma level; in Anna's local area we are hoping it will encourage students to pursue their art studies and perhaps even send a few students to the Brighton Uni 3d Materials Practise degree.....

Snippets! #New card designs

Hot off the press! I've really enjoyed developing this new range of x 9 cards with artist Jane Robbins - the range has just been launched by award-winning card publisher The Art File. Jane Robbins aptly named the range 'Snippets' - each image is cleverly created using snippets of newspapers (Jane's favourite source is The Guardian). The cards are already selling fast and you can order Jane Robbins prints for framing at Yellow House Art. I love the Birds Branches print!

Jane Robbins - Prints

Yellow House artist Jane Robbins is showing at new venue 5 Warleigh Road this year, aptly named 'The Garden House'! I caught up with Jane at the private view, fantastic to see her new prints 'Bird Branches' 'Flower-pots' & 'Kitchen'. Her use of beautiful snippets of collage & newspaper cuttings is just gorgeous - i'd love to have them all! Particularly exciting is that Jane created these as part of a commission with us at Art House Licensing, so they will soon also be available as greeting-cards (published by The Art File). The range is called SNIPPETS - a total of x 9 lovely designs coming soon!

Paul Thurlby Alphabet

Alphabet Book by Paul Thurlby

Available at the South Bank Centre Shop

Mr Paul Thurlby

Z for Zip
We've had such a busy month! With three websites to run, two blogs, two Linked-in accounts, two twitter accounts and two facebook accounts.....it's all keeping me very busy. One of the highlights this month was meeting artist Paul Thurlby whose funky alphabets have been creating a lot of attention. His 'Alphabet' book, published by Templar, is a true find for any lover of typography, alphabets, and indeed fans of thinking outside the box. We bought a copy at the SouthBankCentre shop, signed by Paul to my two children 'You're Awesome!' - Thanks Paul :)
