MBE congratulations to Leigh Spiers

A big congratulations to Leigh for collecting her MBE today for services to the ARTS, as Director of Volunteering for The Art Fund for 10 years. Here she is looking fabulous at the palace :) The Art Fund is a key national charity which helps museums & galleries buy art, to date they have helped save 860 000 pieces of art...

A lady contacted me recently saying she had kept my Paper House 'Bees' greeting-card & would love to buy the original artwork for her husband's 50th Birthday gift - he's crazy about Bees! Here's a shot of the design & the finished framed embroidered artwork. I have often created similar sized pieces or large hand-made cards for special birthdays on bespoke themes, from Bee-hives to Music & Robert burns...

tis the season to be merry

here are some of my embroidered designs hand-made to commission: extra large gift-tags & an A5 embroidered Christmas card using Indian silk, each design is hand-painted and combined with gold foil & embroidery, the little candles are all made up of free-hand machine embroidery in copper, gold or silver thread.
